This is a great book to use in any K-3 classroom and maybe even higher! Does money grow on trees? I guess they do in some situations... Everytime a dime is added we are going to have our students dive into how much money is total! Do you know how to count by your 10s? How do we know to count by our 10s? Dimes are worth 10 cents! There is many things that you are going to learn in this book, and I think it is going to be a great adventure that we are going to take with these characters.
This is a good book because we can learn many things in this book. We can learn that dimes are worth 10 cents. We can also learn how to count by our 10s, which is something our students are going to have to know how to do. I think that I would have fake money and have the kids show different ways to get the same totals. I believe this would be a great way to start talking about money!
I think that this is a very fun book for students to read and there would also be a lot of different activities that could be used with this text to help students learn how to count money. I really love your classroom idea!
