What is Precipitation? by Robin Johnson
What is precipitation and how does it happen? Precipitation sometimes ruins are plans, sometimes we look forward to it, and sometimes it will determine what your day will be like. Would you believe me if I said precipitation can impact many things you do? We all know it rains and snows but how does that really happen? Precipitation is something that is going to happen for the rest of our lives so lets learn about what it really is...
I think this would be a really great book to read to start up a science lesson. It would give great background information on how to determine what precipitation is. They will see that word and think that it is a big word and will get worried until they make a connection on what it really is after reading the book.
This book would be make a great addition for lessons on the weather. Especially in Spring when it rains a lot. It looks like a cute book with really nice pictures. With that said, I am in no hurry for lessons regarding snow! Brrr!
ReplyDeleteI believe this book would be perfect for the curious minds of our students! The weather is something these children, as you said, experience constantly so it is fun to teach about something they already have background knowledge on. Teaching about what precipitation and how it is formed would be greatly taught through a fun science book, before you begin a more in-depth lesson.
ReplyDeleteI like how you used different pictures to describe how precipitation works in different forms. I like how you can use this in your class for different seasons too. I am also with Jamie and not ready for snow just yet!
ReplyDeleteI really like how you used pictures to help explain how the different precipitation works. This would be a great book to help introduce the different seasons.
ReplyDeleteI really like the book you chose because this is a topic that students are already asking about. It is important to make these real world connections for them and not all students have the easiest time comprehending informational texts, but this book is written to support them in it. I think this is a very good blog and I especially like all the pictures you have added.
